How could God allow that to happen? People ask referring to something bad that has happened to someone they know. Truth is, God does not cause bad things on people.
Bad things do happen because:
1, Of our own errors of misjudgment at work, home, or during leisure times. Or because we may abuse or bodies with what we eat, drink, by overworking, worrying, etc.
- Another reason bad things happen is when we are subjected to other people’s errors such as unwarranted high speed, when someone is driving under the influence and cause an accident, when someone is filled with unchecked anger or someone who may be suffering from a mental deficiency and cause suffering on others.
- Lastly, in Scripture we read that we are temporary in this life: “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away” (I Peter 2:24). And so, our bodies may break down and we may experience a serious illness.
But although bad things may happen to us in this life as we have desribed above, God is able to turn a bad or a negative situation into something positive that would be a victory for us and it would bring glory to His Son Jesus in whose hands all things exist as we read in the Gospel of Matthew: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).
The important thing to learn is that we need to believe in the Lord Jesus and trust in Him, and if something negative does happen to us, then we have a rock to stand upon and true life that comes from hopping in Him.
