The apostle Paul wrote, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified without any cost by His grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23, 24).
And he continued, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law (good works)” (Romans 3:28).
The deeds of the law, are the good things we may possibly do to benefit our fellow men in this life, or to try to be “good men.” But doing good things will never cleans us from our sins so that we may be justified and be accepted by the Holy and absolutely perfect God. We are cleansed from sin and become justified before God only through the blood of the Lord Jesus which He shed on the cross, as the apostle John wrote, “… and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
